FAMILY AND CHILDREN'S MINISTRY COORDINATOR
(Part Time, 20 hour/week)
Term of Employment: Two Year Employment Contract
Probation: 3 months
Compensation: $25/hour
Reports to: Lead Pastor
Works With: Families, Children, Volunteers, Worship Coordinator

The Position

- Develop, implement and guide a discipleship strategy to support parents in their desire to raise and disciple their children to be followers of Jesus Christ.
- Recruit, train, coach and support a team of volunteers to meet programmatic objectives.
- Identify and develop age group specific program opportunities that consider and embrace inter-generational aspects of a diverse church family.
- Consistently apply PFC’s Child Protection Policy and Protocols.
The successful candidate will:
- Demonstrate a Christ-centred and lived approach to their faith.
- Have experience with and a passion for working with families, children and volunteers.
- Value and model a relationship approach to ministry while achieving agreed program objectives.
- Be a self-starter/leader who is able to coordinate a schedule of flexible hours while successfully maintaining critical points of connection with staff and volunteers.
- Ability to identify opportunities/issues and recommend appropriate actions.
- Work creatively with those best practices in children’s and family ministry that reflect the ministry objectives of PFC and provide the best supports to the PFC congregation and our broader neighbourhood.
- Identify talents in others and to invite new people to participate in the life of the church.
- Honour both children and adults as vital parts of our community.
- Be a continuous learner who is open to guidance, coaching and development.
- Understand and live into our congregational foundations.
- Provide and regularly update a clear Vulnerable Sector check.
